Motherhood – quite the undertaking, true? And in our age of success-focused living, might motherhood be even more overwhelming given the multitude of fluffy, self-reported accounts of flourishing mom-hood saturating social media feeds? Could it be that many of those stories are carefully crafted to present edited versions of maternal life free of the less-than glorious challenges and mom-guilt so many experience day in and day out while pitching unrealistic fantasies and expectations? Talk about pressure to measure up. Moms, might you be yearning to hear a word of encouragement, to sense the reassurance of the Master saying, “Thank you for being the wonderful woman I created you to be! I love you just as you are, regardless of how motherhood is going for you!” This Sabbath, we will examine a message from God’s heart to each mom’s heart, to encourage instead of challenge.
